I'm Peter Nhiany, a South Sudanese American living in Manchester, NH. I'm one of the Lost Boys of Sudan – a generation of over 20,000 boys displaced during the Second Sudanese Civil War. In 2001, after enduring horrific lives in Internally Displaced Persons' and refugee camps, I came to the United States, where my resettlement changed my life in ways I couldn't have imagined. I'm grateful to America for giving me the opportunity to live a free life. However, I'm still haunted by the lives of those I have left behind. I became a United States citizen on December 14th, 2007.

Inspired by my own experiences as a victim of the Sudanese civil war, I founded the Super Star Foundation in 2021. I dedicated my life to empowering youth in my home country through sports. In 2012, I founded a youth soccer team in Bor, South Sudan, funding the initiative with my hard-earned income and support from well-wishers. As the team's popularity soared and the demand for its programs skyrocketed, I took a bold step and officially established the Super Star Foundation to expand my mission of uplifting and inspiring young people through the power of athletics.

Through the Super Star Foundation, I aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youth of South Sudan, where they can develop their talents, build character, and gain valuable life skills. Sports have the incredible power to unite communities, instill discipline, and foster teamwork – values essential for the future leaders of my country. By investing in the youth today, I hope to contribute to a brighter and more prosperous future for South Sudan. I'm appealing to you, the great people of America to join me in supporting my mission.

The Super Star Foundation is a U.S. based  501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community development through the power of sports. Its mission is to establish sports facilities and create teams for boys in the town of Bor, Jonglei, South Sudan. It is our hope that with time and resources, we will be able to offer the same services for girls to promote gender equality. By providing opportunities for physical activity and team participation, the foundation aims to promote personal growth, social cohesion, and a sense of belonging among the youth in this region.Through sports, the Super Star Foundation strives to empower and inspire the next generation, while simultaneously contributing to the overall well-being and progress of the local community for a better tomorrow.

Our vision is to transform the lives of youth in Bor, Jonglei State, South Sudan, by providing them with access to safe, well-maintained soccer fields and organized team sports. We  envision a future where every child, regardless of gender or background, has the opportunity to engage in physical activity, build teamwork skills, and develop a sense of belonging through the sport of soccer. Our goal is to create a vibrant community where the joy of playing  soccer serves as a catalyst for personal growth, social cohesion, and hope for a brighter future."
